Dr. Tina Tong is a native of Austin, Texas, but has called New York her home for over ten years. Having completed her undergraduate degree in Neuroscience at Barnard College, Columbia University, she earned recognition for her research in biocomputational mapping of circadian rhythms. She continued neuroscience research at Columbia University for two years to publish her senior thesis. A desire to work directly with people fuelled Dr. Tong to move from research and achieve her Doctorate of Dental Medicine at Rutgers School of Dental Medicine, where she was on the Dean’s list for four years. She completed a general practice residency at Wyckoff Heights Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY. Dr. Tong loves to listen to her patient’s needs and integrate her knowledge of how teeth and facial anatomy work together to create a sense of balance and function. This shapes her philosophy in creating stunning smiles in each of her patients.
Dr. Tong is a member of the New York Society of Forensic Dentistry, American Dental Association, New York Society of Dentistry, Academy of General Dentistry, Second District Dental Society, and the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. She provides service in all aspects of dentistry, including pediatric care, root canals, extractions, crowns and veneers, restorations, and Invisalign.
In her spare time, Dr. Tong volunteers with trauma survivors. She enjoys reading research articles and murder-mysteries, travelling, attending shows, trying different foods, and spending time with her family and her dog, Rosie. Dr. Tong, along with the rest of the Smile Arts team, represents the best of the dental profession by taking an ethical approach to treatment and ensuring only the most precise care is delivered to every patient.
